Chirstmas Lantern - Splashymix Inspiration

 I am here to share my inspiration on our December moodboard at Splashymix challenge.

How you are inspired from the above moodboard? Christmas? winter? lights? winter flowers? colours? baby?

Since we are getting close to Christmas, i chose to make a christmas decor for home. Lanterns always brings joy to the festive mood. I have made a Christmas lantern inspired by the lights and colours of the Moodboard.

The flowers and fillers - i have used diecuts from Claina Palmer designs

Christmas poinsettia  , Gladioli & Eucalyptus , Fir bough & Berries

Mixed media Altered hoop tutorial Ft Craftbox papers

      Hello crafty friends,

Today I am sharing with you my project on an altered hoop which i made it for youtube hop.

Altering a hoop was in my wish list for a long time and took this opportunity to try myself out of my comfort zone.

The papers i used in this from Craftbox UK, and the flowers are handmade out of the diecuts from Lady E design. The fillers diecuts are from Fantasy metal dies(Ilex Branch, singing fountain set). Stencils are from ITD collection

Altered box with Patina effect Ft. Craftbox Steampunk Cogs

 Hello Friends....

Today I’d like to share with you an altered box with patina effect featuring Steampunk Cogs & resin roses from Craftbox UK.

I was hoarding this box for a long time and loved to dirty my hands with paints.

My version of creating patina effect was with chalk and metallic paints

Here are the steps for easy Patina effect : 

1. I primed the box with black gesso. Then added some crackle paste randomly. Dry it thoroughly

2. Adhered the metal cogs and elements with heavy dimensional gel

3. Applied a coat of black and white gesso and let it dry

4. Coated with Teal and Sandstone colour chalk paints and let dry

5. Apply dry brush of blue metallic paints

Bottle decoupage tutorial

Welcome

I am here today to share a video tutorial of upcycling of glass bottle by decoupage method with crackle finish using rice paper of ITD Collection for DIY blog

Materials required: 

* "Papier-ryzowy-decoupage-tla-papier-ryzowy"  ITD COLLECTION),
* Glass Bottle
* Crackle medium
*Black gesso or Primer
*Sponge 
*Chalk Paint or Acrylic Paint(dark & light shade)
* Handmade flowers

* Die cuts
* Jute

* Chipboard
* Glue

*  Scissor

* Flat paint brush

Step by step method:

Step 1:The first step is to clean the bottle with sand paper so that there’s no adhesives left from labels.

Step 2: I primed the entire surface of my bottle with black gesso with sponge brush. Then let it dry completely i used heating tool for quick drying, ensure that you keep the heating tool a bit away from bottle.

Step 3: Next step is to add chalk paints. Apply the dark colour and dry it thoroughly.

Step 4: Apply the crackle medium over the bottle in single pattern in one direction(either vertical or horizontal). Do add too much of the medium as it creates drops on the bottle which are subject to peel off later. 

Step 5: Allow it to dry thoroughly. Then apply the light color chalk paint in the same direction as above.You can see the cracks developing on the bottle. Again dry it up thoroughly.

Step 6. Cut the rice paper motifs with scissors and glue the motifs one by one over the bottle.

Step 7: Decorate the bottle with flowers, threads etc.

Step 8: The final step is to varnish and allow it to dry naturally for 24 hours.

DIY Decoupage on altered box

Hello everyone,

Missing my crafting nowadays.

Today I share video tutorial of DIY decoupage of an altered box into Easter gift box from materials of ITD Collection.



Materials required

*  rice paper with hare from ITD Collection
* Small candy box
* White primer / IMMIX white gesso
* IMMIX Chalk paint - Maya Blue & Tiffany Blue
* glue to decoupage
* Sponge brush

* IMMIX Gel Medium

* IMMIX Rainbow Glitters
* Walnut stain Distress ink

* Varnish

Method:

1. Take a box which you want to decoupage and clean it well.
2. Apply a coat of white gesso/white primer over it and allow it to dry

3. Then take the IMMIX chalk paints and apply two coats over the box and allow it to dry.

4. Select the image from the rice paper and cut it with scissors. Slightly wet the edges with water and peel the edges
5.Now apply a coat of IMMIX gel Medium / decoupage glue over the surface of the box and carefully place the image over it. Ensure that no air bubbles are there while placing the rice paper over the box and apply a decoupage glue / gel medium over it. Then sprinkle some IMMIX rainbow glitters over it and allow it to dry.

6. Add some distress inks over the edges to get a vintage look.
7. Seal it with varnish

Vintage style gift box

Hello everyone,

I am sharing a video tutorial for Prika today. I got featured in Prika as Craft enthusiast for the week.

Here i made a vintage style gift box from a normal paper box.

Supplies list

Immix Heavy gesso white

Immix heavy gesso black

Immix metallic paints - Raw umber & Tuscan red

Immix deco stones

Expressionscraft stencil

Immix texture paste

Papericious lace

Plain square box

Metal embellishments

Sequins 

Steps to follow

1. Take the lid of the square box and coat it with heavy white gesso. Then adhere the lace to the sides of the box.

2.Add textures using stencil and texture paste. Add metal embellishment to the centre. Then dry it with heat gun.

3. Now coat the lid with heavy black gesso and completely dry it.

4. Now coat it with immix Raw umber metallic paint and dab Tuscan red colour randomly.

5. Embellish the box with immix deco stones.

DIY Christmas decor tutorial

Hello Friends,

I am here with you today with a photo tutorial for Expressions Craft.

I have made a lovely Christmas decor which will adore your table for the season. 

I used Christmas chipboard, Mega decostones, Metallic paint and Fairy dust  from our store.   

So here is the tutorial.

I took this frame and gave a coat of  white gesso.

Then created textures with gesso. 

 

 

I glued the christmas chipboard pieces over the frame and coated it with a layer of gesso  

Added our Mega deco stones to the bottom

Then started coloring the frame with metallics paints - i have used Emerald Forest, Holiday Gold and My blue heaven metallic paint from our store.

 

Finally embellished it with star Chipboard and Sequins. Added glitters with our Fairy dust and Magic Sparks. Added border with our Military Brown chalk paint

Metallic Frame

Hello Crafty friends,

I am here today to share my  inspiration on mixed media altered frame for Expressions craft blog.

Our  current month challenge theme is to "Celebrate"

I have taken a plastic frame for this and altered it using Black Gesso, Metallic paint, Chipboard embellishments, Decostones and Handmade flowers.

Fixed the chipboard embellishment,tag chipboard, flowers to the frame and coated with a layer of Black gesso and then coated with Velvet Orchid Metallic paint. Then it is embellished with decostones and added the sentiment
